Sight Lines
“Sight Lines” is an exhibition which translates the journeys of a group of East Anglian creatives who have moved from their earlier professional careers into alternative and daring artistic explorations unhindered by conventional expectation. Each artist has referred to their own internal or external environment distilled by mature reflections, sometimes intimate and nuanced and on occasion bold and uncompromising.
Cambridgeshire artists Valerie Emmons and Kathryn Hearn, both from Chatteris, and Andrew Jones from Ely, were invited by Michael Walton to exhibit their drawings and sculptures with his drawings in a Pop Up exhibition at Oak Farm Barn, Woodditton Road, Kirtling, CB8 9PG near Cambridge for three days only, May 17th, 18th and 19th 2019. The opening times are 11am to 6pm on each day when the artists will welcome you with a refreshment.
The renowned 20th Century artist Paul Klee said ‘a line is a dot that went for a walk’. This quote articulates the key role line has in any artist’s composition including these works made with ink on paper, metal in wind and handbuilt porcelain into a collection demonstrating a wide range of scales and narratives in a beautiful 19th century converted barn. For this short time, they will be seen together in synergy and reaction to each other. Most of the exhibits will be for sale as well as for contemplation.
