Women of the Land Army
Join WLA Historian Nicky Reynolds for an afternoon of discovery on the achievements of a group of women who ‘broke’ ground to help shape our agricultural heritage. Known affectionately as Land Girls and referred to nationally as the ‘Cinderellas of the Soil’ the Women’s Land Army was a uniquely female response to times of conflict. You will have the chance to see and feel some of the uniforms and resources used by members of the WLA and to hear about the fascinating research project that is currently happening in Suffolk, as well as ask questions and exchange memories and stories.
