Diss Museum Opening Parade – Remembering Diss Picture House
A Parade of Stars will march through Diss to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the closure of the town’s cinema & the 80th Anniversary of the film classic Casablanca.
The parade will set off at 10.30 am opposite Hughes Electrical on Victoria Road – the original cinema building, & will assemble at Diss Museum, which re-opens with a special exhibition about the New Picture House.

Other events on the day: Amadines Restaurant will be serving Moroccan food on the day and the following week.
At 7.30 pm – concert of ‘Music from the Flicks’ in St Mary’s Church by the South Norfolk Youth Symphonic Band.
Weds 15th March 10.30 am & 7.30 pm – Casablanca will be screened at Diss Corn Hall. A FREE glass of wine for anyone dressed in Casablanca costume! Cinema tickets £5/under 18s £2.50
