The Doggerland Story – speaker Tim Holt-Wilson
Discovering a lost European Landscape. 14,000 years ago the North Sea was a chilly plain roamed by herds of wild horse and reindeer – and our own hunting ancestors. We call this land area Doggerland, and East Anglia was just an upland area on its own western edge.
The talk will trace the stories of Doggerland’s submergence under the North Sea, its changing wildlife, landscape and human settlement, all set against a background of changing climate and rising sea levels
